Weekly wars & victories: #1
001. Lately my blog and other social networks have been lacking any photography from my camera. Unfortunately, there is a piece missing to my lens and it's not able to function properly, thus leaving me with no camera. This is one of those deals where I say I'm going to get it all figured out, but then I just put it off. I've been relying on my friend's instagram to paint pictures of my daily life. This is not good.
002. My friend Camille and I are looking into getting an apartment downtown. We've applied, now we just need to put down the payment. This is all moving a little fast, but the place is perfect. It's in such a convenient spot that I could literally walk or ride my bike to work. There are a lot of things that I would need to do if I were to move out. I'd need to find another job in the city... and probably tell my parents sooner or later. It's been the most challenging thing to bring up to them. I just want them to know that it would make things much easier for me.
003. I'll be walking in a fashion show tomorrow night. Yes, this 5'2 lady will be walking the runway. It's a last minute deal. A friend-of-a-friend kind of deal. I'm very excited to strut my stuff. I'm not sure what I'll be wearing yet, which makes me a little nervous. All will be well, I'm sure. The show will be at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo, in their aquarium. It's for a good cause called Project Madagascar. Whenever I'm reminded of the pain my heels bring, I remind myself, I'm doing this for the lemurs.
004. This song right here has been on repeat for the past couple of days. It's so catchy that I find myself singing to it at work without realizing.
005. Even though waitressing is a pain in my bum, it's good money (most of the time). And every now and then I get the satisfaction of putting smiles on peoples faces. It's been a wonderful opportunity for me to meet people from all around. It's also a great way to brush up on people skills. It's completely different from what I'm use to since I've only worked retail before this... but I'm conquering it one day at a time.
