Weekly wars & victories: #5

001. Honestly, the post should be titled monthly wars & victories. It's been a while since I've done one of these. But it seemed like most of the weeks that went by were nothing but work. My life isn't always that exciting to write about. I will try to fill you in on all that you have missed.

002. Omaha Fashion Week's next show is really just around the corner. We already have the designer line up and Model Calls are being prepared. Last Monday was our 2nd Model Call of the month. Camille, her photography intern, and I were such a great team. We basically set the thing up in less than an hour. Camille was our photographer and I was the DJ. It was a fun night. Good jams, good times. I'm really happy to be getting more busy with fashion week business. It is a lot of work, but I love every bit of it.

003. Exciting news! I'm finally a part of the smartphone world. That's right, this is the first time I've ever owned a smartphone. It's really life changing. I now have the whole world at the palm of my hands. I ended up getting the Nexus 4. It was a great deal for an unlocked phone and plus I'm only paying $45 a month on an individual unlimited everything plan. You can't beat that. The very first thing I downloaded on my phone was instagram. Feel free to follow, @petitepayton

004. Just yesterday I had a very laid back interview with a guy opening up a new design firm in the Omaha downtown area called, Omaha Design Group. We discussed a possible internship opportunity over some hot chocolate. I would have opportunities to make money by discovering gigs for the company basically. I would start work in the spring which is perfect for me. I'm definitely looking into it. It's experience and I think it'll really benefit me especially when I'm in need of good references.

005. Christmas is approaching us slowly. I'm a last minute christmas shopper, which is bad. But I have dedicated a couple days next week to nothing but present buying. Tomorrow I have a movie date with a good friend of mine. We're going to see The Hobbit! I'm so, so very excited. I'm geeking out.
