Weekly wars & victories #6

I really don't know where to start. So much has happened this week.. so much change that would mostly happen over the course of a month. But all of it has occurred within the last three days.

001. I started the week off sick, calling into work whenever I was scheduled. I hadn't gone in to work the past two nights because I felt terrible and on top of that I really hated my job. On Wednesday my friend Camille, whom I hadn't seen since the last fashion week model call, came into town to join my apartment hunt. We only looked at one place though and this was the place that she had lived previously. The silly part about this is, is that her old apartment was the only studio that happened to be open. The one filled with all of our memories was opened. I didn't hesitate. I wanted that apartment. I still have an application pending, but once accepted it'll be ours.

002. I quit my job. It's really a huge relief. I feel so free now that I don't work there. My goal was to get out of my hometown this year and it's happening. It's something so easy to put off. With the motivation from my good friends, I've been able to step out of my shell a bit. Bringing it up to my parents will be the biggest challenge for me next week. They have so many doubts and worries. I just want to gain their trust. The key for me this month is to stay positive, no matter the situation. Putting all worries aside and enjoying the ride.

003. So the night I left my work, I met up with the producer of Omaha Fashion Week to discuss some plans for the next few months. I basically got a new job the night I quit my old one. There couldn't have been better timing. I will now be the main designer for their upcoming magazine. I'm incredibly excited about it! It'll be a challenge, but I'm ready for it.

004. For the past couple of days I've been dwelling in the little city of Des Moines, Iowa. I've been staying at my friend Camille's loft that she had recently got, and let me tell you.. it's amazing. We will be sharing it now, along with our place in Omaha. Both places are going to be our work spaces. We've been dedicating these last few days to collecting inspiration and creating mood boards. We even created our own think tank. I couldn't be happier of where I am right now in my life. This is a new chapter and I feel like I'm definitely getting a fresh start here.
