Beauty Basics

I'm not much of a beauty guru. In fact, I barely shop for makeup unless I'm running low on some of my basic essentials, such as foundation and mascara. I get more of a satisfaction shopping for clothes than I do makeup. These are a few of my basic, daily products that I use to paint my face in the morning. They are all very affordable and the majority of them can be found at your local drugstore.

1. Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Ivory: Tis' the season for liquid foundation. My skin tends to get more dry during the colder months, so liquid is a must. This foundation is lightweight and somewhat sheer, but it gives the perfect amount of coverage for me. I apply it with a makeup sponge and it blends evenly. It also provides SPF 20 sun protection, which is a plus in my book. If I'm in need of more coverage, I usually go for Revlon's Liquid ColorStay Foundation.

2. Maybelline Stiletto Eyeliner: THIS. This is my go-to eyeliner. It'll last me until the end of the day or night with a smudge in sight. I tend to stray away from pencil liners because they have me looking like a proper raccoon after hours of wear. This liquid pen makes my cat eyes come to life every day.

3. Revlon Brow Fantasy Gel/Pencil: I love this magical pencil. When my brows are feeling dull, I fill them in a bit and tame them with a bit of gel. Believe it or not, my brows need a lot of upkeep and this two in one product gets the job done.

4. Avon Smooth Minerals Blush in Mauve: This blush and I have been on good terms for a couple of years now. It sits nicely on my cheeks during the day and the color is something to be adored. It's not too dramatic, it's simply subtle and perfect when paired with a bold red lip.

5. Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara: When I'm in need of a mascara fix, I usually browse through Covergirl's selection of mascaras. I can never really go wrong with them, just a long as I don't mistakingly go home with the waterproof formula or the wrong color - always read the fine print. This mascara in particular is easy on the lashes and does exactly what you would expect it to.

6. Revlon ColorStay Lipliner in Wine: This is an incredible lipliner. I use it as lipstick and I might be doing it wrong, but this color and matte finish is divine. Can't stop, wont stop.

That's all for now. It's the weekend! I hope you enjoy yourselves.
