Wars and victories #13

Gingham top: Joe Fresh | Black sweater: NY&CO | Lipstick: Covergirl

001. It's been a while since I've contributed to my "wars & victories" series. I use to do them weekly, but [insert excuse here]. It's the holiday season and my cheeks are blushing from the winter wind. December is one of my favorite months. Even though the weather reaches below zero here, there's something so warm about this time of the year. Perhaps it's the cup of coffee in the morning, my obnoxiously fuzzy socks, or the fact that I get to be close with the people who remain dearest to me. With all three combined, it makes for a pretty amazing month.

002. I have invited a little bit of change into my life lately. I got my hair chopped and it's the shortest it's ever been. I have been waiting months for this haircut and I'm so happy with it. Taking care of those long locks was becoming more of a chore for me. I was inspired by ladies of the 1950s, with their classy cuts. Jacqueline Kennedy, Marilynn Monroe, and Elizabeth Taylor are a favored few that came to mind. My head feels lighter and my neck feels slightly colder. I think I'll stick with this style for a while.

003. I'm finished with finals - the relief is finally settling in. I'm happy to put my general studies behind me and move onto things that really interest/inspire me. I still have many decisions to make, but I'm happy to be where I am right now. I have no plans, but many aspirations. I hope to make at least some of them a reality in the near future.

004. The weekend is ahead and I have many Christmas/ugly sweater parties to attend to within the next couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to running into some familiar faces.

What are your plans for the weekend?
