Brighter Surroundings

It's a great feeling being all settled into a new environment. Suddenly a place that seemed so strange, seems completely familiar. It's been almost two months since I moved to Des Moines- In my new digs. There are so many things I love about my apartment. The tall ceilings, big windows, detailed door knobs, etc! It's important to me that I dwell in an atmosphere that inspires me and one that I look forward to calling "home". I think I found the one. The Navarre is truly the New Artist Space.

I haven't spent too much time decorating yet. But there are a few things that I really admire. My Jonathan Borofsky piece is the most obvious. I call him my mystery man and he's always watching the apartment while I'm gone. Beside him is my work space. I try to put fresh flowers there whenever I can. I'll share more about that little bubble of mine later.

It seems like I've been on a balloon kick lately. I've been celebrating so many birthdays with friends that I end up taking home a few. Before I know it, Arigato gets all tangled in them.

I'm back home with my family for a few more days for Easter. It's nice that I don't live so far away. I'm going to use this time to reconnect with some of my great friends! I hope I get to see you. If not, I will always be visiting again and again. I hope you all have the best Easter. xx
