January Favorites - The Little Things
Happy February! January was full of both lovely and ugly things- finishing my work with Ann Taylor, meeting a few new faces, getting my cat, Arigato, into an art exhibition (It's this Friday, so if you're in Des Moines go see it!), preparing myself for a month of full-time freelance blogging/design & Hello Holiday, losing a loved one, & growing from challenges I've been faced since then. So, yes. 2016 may have had a rough start, but I'm happy to be almost through winter. Amongst the family & friends that have kept my spirits up (which is the most important - THANK YOU), I've also grown a collection of things that bring color to my day.
Barely there makeup days are my favorite with the help of my favorite Steelcat Sunglasses(1.) and Rose Plum Lipstick (2.). A little can go a long way! And since I am a modern day Snow White, blush is a must. I just started using NARS blush in the shade "Orgasm"(6.), and it is indeed orgasmic. The tips of my fingers aren't missing out either these days. I finally couldn't stand looking at my chipped polish from last year and caved into Essie's Mod Square(5.).
I'm a sucker for dangly earrings (the tassel kind), I'm sure you've heard. Whenever I visit Hello Holiday, I'm leaving with something extremely cute- like those tassel earrings. I wear them whenever I can (especially at dance parties) and I get so many compliments. Another thing keeping my ears busy is the CoCo Phone(7.), which is essentially a phone for my phone. It's silly, but I love twirling a good phone cord when I'm talking. On the spectrum that is completely unrelated to ear candy, I've been diving deep into a book I bought last year. "Enchantment"(4.) is a biography about Audrey Hepburn and last months rain cloud didn't stand a chance against the inspiration it brought me. Last but not least, my Fish Eye lens (3.) (Sorry, I don't have a link for this). It's easy for me to forget about this little guy, but it makes for some really interesting photos and video footage. I will be using it a lot more often for upcoming videos.
I hope I didn't ramble too much. It's snow day in Iowa and I'm back home with my family for a week. I can already hear reruns of Mad Men and a fresh cup of coffee brewing. I hope you have a great week! xx
I can explain..
