Familiar Ground
I am disgustingly captivated by psychedelic patterns. When I find them painted all over clothing, I'm nearly drooling. I found this gem of a dress at one of my favorite vintage shops in Des Moines called Preservation. Whenever I stop in, I always find something to take home. It's dresses like these that make people stop, stare, and think.. or maybe fall under some kind of spell. Or at least, I hope so. The heels are from another locally loved shop called Atomic Garage. It's rare to find a pair of vintage heels that fit me, but when they do, it's like a glass slipper meets Cinderella type of thing.
You'd be amazed, but steering clear from bigger clothing stores has invited some really unique pieces into my closet. I find that they hold more meaning and I never have to worry about running into someone else with the same outfit. I've been making it more of priority to shop locally. Not only does it benefit my wardrobe, it also keeps the businesses within this little city thriving. I don't know what I'd do without them.
